Sold!

Our humble abode went on the market, we had two offers in less than four days, and quickly had a signed contract. We couldn't be more thrilled to have such a huge item checked off our to-do list before moving. But a large part of me is pretty bummed to be leaving our very first home.

We bought our quaint Cape Cod right before we were married.

We brought our first two children, Lynnie and Elhers, here.

A few years later, the Little Lady entered our world, and this house truly became a home.

We've remodeled, added on, painted. We've stressed, cried, possibly cursed once or twice. We've changed jobs, changed lifestyles, went from a newly married couple to parents. We've dreamed, loved, lived in this house.

And now we're moving out and moving on.

Snow Cones

In the parking lot across from one of our favorite restaurants, Westside Local, is this fantastic vintage camper serving all natural snow cones. The little lady was a huge fan - she tried each flavor but decided Nanny's was the tastiest.

Sunday Brunch

We enjoyed brunch with my parents and sister on Sunday, and for the first time in months, we took a decent picture of our little family.

We sat outside on the patio, and there were four puppies roaming around. Lily thought this little fur ball was there for her entertainment. I had to keep reminding myself that we do not need another puppy in our house...so stinking cute!

Lily is going to miss these two ladies so much when we move. But not as much as me....

Thanks for great food and great company. Next time, let's meet in sunny Arizona?!?!

Happy #2!

Last weekend, we had a blast celebrating cousin Liam's 2nd birthday as well as seeing our extended family before heading out west.

This is the best picture I have of the three cousins - Aynslee, Liam, and Lily are three busy busy kiddos.

Liam was sweet enough to share his toys with Lily, who has no problem stealing them, even from an older boy. There might have been a little shoving involved, on both sides.

Hmmmm, cake. Get in my belly!

Lily preferred Grandpa's homemade ice cream.

Mom devoured both. Of course.

Cuddle time with great uncle Rudy.

And lots of loving on Grandpa.

Remember what a good sharer Liam was with his toys?

We almost had a serious brawl over the blankie. Think we have two very stubborn cousins on our hands. Love it!

After all that excitement, we went off to sweet dreamland, thinking of the next time we can play together. Happy Birthday Liam!

Busy Bee

We are one busy family since finding out eight days ago that we are moving across country.

We've been cooking a few favorite meals to clean out the frig

Empting drawers and packing up our favorite toys

And doing some serious cleaning

What a big helper we have!

But hardest of all, we said goodbye to Daddy...and we miss him already.

The next step...

We will desperately miss our home...but are excited for a new adventure.

Goodbye Kansas City

Hello Phoenix

We are still ironing out the details. This is a last minute, unexpected, exciting, scary, overwhelming change for us. In short, Ryan was offered a position in Phoenix that is too good to pass up, and our little family will be heading southwest shortly. As I type these words, I simultaneously feel giddy with excitement, while huge tears well up in my eyes thinking about leaving our family and friends.

More details to come - for now, we'll be looking forward to the next step of our Life with Lily!
