Fall

We finally enjoyed a beautiful fall day after what seems like weeks of rainy cold ones.  Lily loved the sunshine and the fresh air!

Happy Friday

Hey mom, why are we home today?   Shouldn’t you be at work and me at daycare?

img_0594

Nope, my awesome firm let me reduce my schedule and now I will be home with you most Friday’s.

KC Marathon weekend

This weekend was the Kansas City marathon.  I’ve been looking forward to running the half as my first race back after Lily and am so excited to have set a personal record (ok, I’ll be honest.  I’ve ran five marathons but have never ran a half.  So yes, I PR’d ,but only because it was my very first one.  Ha!)  It was a perfect day for a race and even more perfect because I had the cutest fan club cheering me on!

I can’t wait until Lily can join me in the kid’s marathon in just a few short years!

I love my Papa

Before the Little Lady joined our family, Ryan and I often talked about how we thought our families would react to her.  For example, we assumed (and were right!) that both grandmothers would be overjoyed and love on her with tons of kisses and hugs.  But one person we couldn’t figure out was my dad, aka Papa Kurt.  While he has always been a wonderful dad and he and I are very close, he isn’t what one would call a ‘touchy feely’ type of guy.  And he LOVES my little cousins, but seems to prefer them as they got a little older than the infant stage.  So we had a hard time imaging what he would think of his little granddaughter, especially as a newborn.

Well, four months later and Miss Lily seems to be Papa Kurt’s pride and joy.

Sometimes pictures speak more than words…..

Snow bunny

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it’s cold outside!

It’s been unseasonably cold the past few weeks and Lily is getting excited for her first snow fall.  Hopefully winter will hold off a little longer!

Hanging out

Our household has been crazy busy these past few weeks.  We have been exhausted from all the activities and needed an afternoon to hang out.

We all took naps

And then relaxed in front of the TV.

Come on, one step closer.  I wanna pull on those ears!

Grandma?

Are you my Grandma O?  You sure look like her!  But alas, no, you are my great aunt Janice and I loved meeting you last week!

Football weekend

Lily helped celebrate Ryan’s 30th birthday with a football themed weekend.

First, she intently watched  KSU beat Iowa State at Arrowhead.  Her first KSU game!  Go State!

Then she watched NFL football with Dad on Sunday after he got home from the Chiefs game.  (The Chiefs needed Lily to attend the game…she is good luck and they need all the luck they can get!)

Happy Birthday Daddy!  I love you!
