Pumpkin Patch 2012

For the third year, we spent a morning at the local pumpkin patch.

This year was a bit cooler than previous visits, and we had a blast with our friends.

However, Lily was waaaaay too busy to pose for pictures, so enjoy the actions shots and cheesy smiles.

She's gone...let's party!

 I was out of town this weekend for one of my best friend's wedding.  Ryan stayed home with the kids since we didn't want to drag them to Kansas for one short night.  (Side note: how much do we hate living so far away with no family at times like this.  I definitely missed my better half!) 

Per the photos that showed up on my phone, it appears my family had a pretty fun weekend.  A trip to the park, our neighborhood restaurant, great naps, and one very tired Daddy!

I secretly wanted another girl.  I am so thankful I didn't get my wish.  

I could never have imagined how much I would love this little boy. 

 And his Daddy?  My absolute favorite person in the whole world.

A few thoughts

~In the last week, you have really started interacting and 'talking'.  You coo and giggle, and give the biggest smiles.  Your favorite person is your big sister...you think she is hilarious and light up whenever you hear her voice.

~Our good sleeper is on a fairly consistent  schedule.  You head to bed around 8pm and wake up most nights around 5am (maybe twice a week a bit earlier around 4am).  You then go back to sleep for two or three hours. This schedule works well for us, as we are normally up by 5:30am anyway. 

~We are once again using the 'Miracle Blanket' and swear it is why our kids have been such great newborn sleepers.

~You went on your first few walks this week (yay for it finally cooling down enough to play outside!).  Once in the stroller with mom, and twice in the Baby Bjorn with the whole family.  You loved both - you like being outside and fell asleep each time. 
~You continue to be very laid-back and very much a mama's boy.  You love to be held, but are also starting to entertain yourself a bit in the bouncy chair. 
~You LOVE your baths.  You completely zone out and enjoy every moment.

~You are such a tall guy and are quickly outgrowing all 0-3 months clothes.  I need to do some serious shopping!

~We love you more than words and can't imagine our family without you!

Proud to be a Wildcat

Lily and Ryan had a father's event at her school this morning.  It had a football theme - wear your team colors, kick the soccer ball and play bean bag toss, a few sporty crafts, plus hotdogs and lemonade.  Ryan said Lily was excited to show him her classroom, introduce all her friends, and visit her new and old teachers.  Her teachers reported that she is a good listener, shares toys well, and is always a leader in the classroom.  Mommy and Daddy are so proud of our girl!
